శారద ఆకునూరి
ఉదాత్త సాహిత్యంతో సృష్టించబడిన సినీ గీతాలంటే ఎంతో అభిమానం, ఇంకా ఇంగ్లీష్‌లో చెప్పాలంటే “PASSION” ఉన్న ప్రముఖ గాయని శ్రీమతి శారద ఆకునూరి.
మూడేళ్ల లేత వయస్సులోనే పాటలు పాడటం అభ్యసించిన ఆమె, భక్తి, లలిత, సినిమా పాటల పోటీలలో అనేక రాష్ట్రస్థాయి బహుమతులు గెలుచుకున్నారు. ఆకాశవాణి విజయవాడ కేంద్రంలో రేడియో గాయనిగా అనేక లలిత గీతాలు ఆలపించారు.
అమెరికాలో ఉంటూనే తెలుగు, హిందీ, తమిళం, కన్నడ, మలయాళ భాషలలో అమెరికా, కెనడా, భారతదేశంలోని అనేక నగరాల్లో వందలాది సంగీత విభావరిలో పాల్గొన్నారు. అక్కినేని ఫౌండేషన్ ఆఫ్ అమెరికాలో బోర్డు డైరెక్టర్‌గా కీలక పాత్ర పోషిస్తున్నారు (2019లో అధ్యక్షురాలు).
She performed alongside legends such as P. Susheela, and sang at landmark celebrations for ANR, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Jamuna and Kota Srinivasa Rao. Media honoured her as “America Gaana Kokila”.
